Gwen has been deeply involved in counter-extremism from the very beginning. With Lokahi, she trained and managed the nationwide programme of community deradicalization projects in the UK; and created and delivered a community programme, Operation Nicole, that prevented a terrorist attack.

Before that, Gwen was a philosopher professor and University of London academic, pioneering an interfaith approach to the philosophy of religion.
